Before you read the tips, make sure that you know that in order for you to have a stress-free wedding day (aka avoid being a bridezilla), you have to have the right mindset. "Reality is created by the mind, we can change our reality by changing our mind."-Plato

I have been following Dr. Caroline Leaf since last year. She is a neuroscientist and mind expert. She teaches us how to detox our mind. One day, when I stroll through Instagram, I saw Dr. Caroline Leaf posted that quote and it blew my mind. So, if we have the right attitude towards wedding planning, believing that it will be stress-free wedding day and you can avoid the stress of wedding planning, it will happen.

Now, what is the concrete things that you can do to have a stress-free wedding day? How to turn yourself from a bridezilla to a bridechilla?

  1. Step Back and Relax before the wedding planning even started. When you first got engaged, did you get too excited and want to plan the wedding the day after you got engaged? YES, GIRL. ME, TOO. I was so excited to be married to Justin and I went to Pinterest right away, trying to look for venue, and looking for ideas the night we got engaged! HAHA. BUT, thankfully I have an awesome family. We went to dinner the next day and we tried to enjoy and celebrate this engagement season. Go on a date night, celebrate with your friends, and pop that bottle of champagne are a few ideas on how to relax and enjoy this moment!

  2. Set expectation right from the beginning. You two should discuss the big picture before the wedding planning started. From the beginning, Justin and I agree that we want to have a fun wedding day. So, we will not let anybody dictate what or how we want it. Set your boundaries. Agreeing on the same thing and create clear boundaries with your spouse before the planning even started will make the process goes smoother. You will know what to say yes to or no to, so you don't have to fight so much about it in between planning.

  3. Invest in a wedding planner & designer. I cannot tell you how many couples regretted the decision that they did not invest in a wedding planner for their wedding day. A lot of times, the couple felt like they got it all together, or they believe in their family members to help organizing & designing the wedding, but... they're still super stressed out on their planning and their wedding day. Why? Because everybody keep coming to you and your spouse for questions like: what color of napkins will match with your bridesmaid dressses?Where do you put this centerpiece? What time will the DJ come? Where is the ceremony site? And not only that, at the end of the day, you forgot that your bridal suite is still full of stuffs. Who's gonna take care of the gifts? Who's gonna pack your stuffs? Well, if you have a wedding planner & designer, they will take care of everything, literally. So if you ask me, I think wedding planner is totally worth the investment for a stress-free wedding day.

  4. Invest in a photography team that has the same value as you and will invest in you. After your wedding day is over, the only thing left is t sweet, romantic memories, but thank God for photographers that preserve it forever right? :) When you are looking for photographers have the same value as you and you fiancé. Do you value the moments in between that capture the love between you two? Do you value the way your dad look at you in your dress for the first time? Do you value the moment your maid of honor break the dance floor? Do you value stunning wedding photos that fits in a wedding magazine? As Atlanta wedding photographers that truly passionate about marriage and think the world of people relationship, Justin and I are proud to say that we invest in your relationship. We will make it our priority to take the time to get to know you, have a meal together with you, make sure that we blend in at your wedding, celebrate you, and create beautiful, stunning wedding photos while you're enjoying your wedding day. We invest in you so that you have one less thing to worry about your wedding. 5. Plan B. Your wedding day will be perfect no matter what. And having a plan B ready will make it even more perfect. Consult with your wedding team (Yes, this includes your wedding photographer and wedding planner, too!). Once you decided what is your plan B. Tell your bridal party and immediate family about it, so when you have to execute your plan B, your bridal party and immediate family can help you spread the word!
